Quality protein shakes are a fantastic and nutritious meal substitute and snack. Most of the protein shakes that are pre-made at the stores are full of sugar and other stuff and does not taste as good and wholesome. I have discovered that it is best to make your own protein shakes. You know that what is in your shake because you made it yourself. Just as variety is great for making your exercise routines exciting and productive, it is the same case with protein shakes. You should vary what you put in your shakes.
I make my protein shakes using protein powder that is soy-based. I mix about one cup of water, a quarter-cup of protein powder, and a half-cup of fruits. Then, I use a blender to mix this delicious shake together. The water and quarter-cup of protein powder remains about constant. I can vary on the fruits. I have found that frozen strawberries to be quite a delicious treat that will benefit my body. Frozen fruits work just as well as fresh fruits as long as you drink the shake not more than two days after you make it. Shake it well before you drink it. Recently, I have discovered mixing in pineapples as a frozen shake. Not only does it taste delicious but the enzymes from the pineapples give your digestive system a great cleanse. Apples also have similar enzymes, but I like pineapples much better. Vary the frozen fruits that you place in your shake, you will tend to drink it more often and enjoy the whole process.
These shakes are great meal substitutes and snacks. You can try to drink these shakes in the morning, mid-morning snack, lunch, late-afternoon snack, dinner, late-night snack, and before bedtime snack. Also, you can try this routine but with a dinner (instead of a protein shake). During this process, you can vary the kind of protein shakes you have. You can have strawberry shakes, pineapple shakes, mixed fruit shakes, and other varied combinations. Drink plenty of water and you are giving your digestive system a much needed rest and cleanse. It is easier for our digestive system to digest shakes, water, and other liquids rather than food and other solid particles. You can also incorporate other protein shakes that are pre-made but make sure they are not full of sugar and other unnecessary fillers and stuff.
Variety is the spice of life. Variety is great for your exercise routine and for your protein shakes. It is conducive to make us disciplined to stick to our exercise and diet program. We need that continuity to stay healthy and lose weight.
