Singapore’s Little India district is one of the most original ethnic enclaves in the country. Many of the other ethnic districts have lost their charm, mainly caused by the demolition of older buildings to make way for modern shopping malls and plazas. Luckily with Little India, much of the place is still left intact; therefore you can expect one of the most authentic eating experiences there! Here are some of the best places to eat curry and other Indian food in Singapore’s Little India district.

Budget Restaurants

The Saravana Bhavan located on 84 Syed Alwi Road, is a great restaurant serving up fresh Indian vegetarian food at very reasonable prices. This restaurant is actually a franchise from Chennai, India. Prices hover around the 15 S$ to 25 S$ (Singapore dollars) range for a complete meal for one person. If you are ordering the set dishes, then the biryani rice and curry vegetable side dishes are “all you can eat”. Therefore it is actually quite a good deal, as the food is good, and the food portions are large.

They have multiple branches all around town, but their flagship branch is the one located on Race Course Road. What they are famous for is their fish head curry.
